Colonel Harland Sanders

Famous for his "finger-lickin' good" fried chicken, Colonel Sanders first served customers from a service station in Corbin, Kentucky. In 1935, as his secret-recipe chicken was becoming popular, he was made an honorary "Kentucky Colonel." His image as a stereotypical southern gentleman – white suit, black string tie and goatee – has become an icon that is recognized around the world.
